I've left Half of Me in London....

And by half, I mean half of my luggage. The first leg of the trip went smoothly, a bit of a late start as we headed to the LAX airport, but with 0ne last Pumpkin Spice Steamer in hand, we sped on our way. Luggage check went reasonably well, and I will have to say, British Airways receives top marks from me for dinner. Best cake in the air ever! Though, as those who traveled on the France trip with me will agree...it still ranks second to Air France silverware. Breakfast was also a shady cold cut burrito. I passed and stuck with yogurt.
Our two hour layover in Heathrow was also, for the most part, uneventful, we even had some time to check out radically overpriced perfume in the duty-free section. Though it is hard to look as though you can afford $80 amenities while you are wearing sweats and have bed head. I think I pulled it off.
The complication arose when the plane we were supposed to take to Istanbul was sidelined for technical difficulties and we were herded to a line of buses which took us to another terminal and another plane. In the end, the result was we made it to Turkey, half of the luggage did not. We were also late meeting our ride to the Hostel because of the attempts to find said luggage, and the driver (who averaged 100 mph) was cordial but you could tell he would rather have been in bed.
This morning was beautiful! Our hostel had breakfast on the roof which overlooks the sea, and I was able to get to know a nice roaming Australian, named Tip, who is traveling for a few months before settling down to work in England. We had briefly met when I stumbled into the room around 1 am, but aside from a few bleary 'hello's' not to much was said. So right after I finish up with blogging, it's off to the Blue Mosque and the Haggai Sofia!
Thank you all for you support and love, I will update soon!
P.s. Luggage is arriving this evening, and I have thankfully not begun to add to the pollution level due to an overnight bag provided by British Airlines.
